Del Monte Kenya Ltd., a leading producer, marketer, and distributor of high-quality fresh fruit and prepared food in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, and a leading player in Kenya's agricultural sector announced today the opening of a groundbreaking biofertilizer plant that will turn the company’s pineapple residues into biofertilizers.

This initiative signifies a significant leap forward in potentially transforming the agricultural landscape in Kenya, championing sustainable practices, and bolstering the local community through innovation, job creation, and investment.

Strategically situated near Del Monte Kenya's operations, the newly launched biofertilizer plant will use residues from the company’s pineapple cannery to create four different types of biofertilizers for its use and eventual sale to other growers in East Africa.
