Abstract:

In order to effectively use the probiotic VAAS-AT2 in controlling fungi and nematodes causing coffee yellow leaf and root rot disease, the study focused on evaluating the effectiveness of the preparation by applying different dosages, methods and times. The VAAS-AT2 was also tested in small and large area experiments. The study determined that the efficacy of controlling pathogen fungi (F. oxysporum, R. solani) and nematodes (P. coffeae) was 64.3 - 77.2% and 69.8 - 77.3% when applying the doses of 5 g and 50 g/plant; 69.52 - 70.97% and 70.77 - 70.97% when using the method of root fertilization and preparation watering. The efficacy against fungi and nematodes reached 81 - 82.1% and 79.8% when using the preparation at both the nursery and new planting stages after 9 months of experiment. The ratio of coffee plants with yellow leaf disease, root rot in the treatments using the preparation with different doses, methods and time were significantly reduced in comparison with the control. The product VAAS-AT2 was effective in controlling fungal and nematode populations from 79.4 - 79.7% and 78.1% in the small-scale field experiment. On a large scale, the controlling effect of the preparation reached 79.68 - 80.03% for fungal diseases and 79.58 for nematodes after 18 months of treatment. Using VAAS-AT2 in the large scale experiment brought a net profit for coffee growers of VND 20.2 million/ha, equivalent to a 32.8% increase in profit compared to the control.
