Sustainable agriculture projects developed in Holguín

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma for its Spanisdh acronym) in the Cuban province of Holguin is expanding the execution of projects focused on sustainable agriculture to improve soil conditions and crop yields.
Geovanny Zaldívar Martínez, provincial sub-delegate of that agency, emphasized to ACN that in these territories, priority is given to the training of producers and the use of natural fertilizers with proven effectiveness such as worm humus.
He specified that other strategies of the agricultural programs in the municipalities of Holguin province are to expand the soil demonstration polygons and forestry farms aimed at the experimental development of biofertilizers and the evaluation of seeds for the cultivation of species adapted to the intense drought.
